Come along and hear David Verran speak about the history of the North Shore, and Northcote in particular, up to May 1959 and the opening of the Harbour Bridge. David has researched the history of the North Shore over many years which will ensure that this will be an interesting and informative presentation. Questions will be welcome at the conclusion of the presentation. David is currently President of the North Shore Historical Society and Local History Librarian at Auckland City Libraries. Peter has a reputation as a gifted raconteur, is well known for his sense of humour, and has a long working history with the Council. This promises to be a fun afternoon of memories and recollections… Peter McArthur joined Northcote Borough Council as an Assistant Town Clerk in 1971 and spent 18 years with the borough until amalgamation. His last three years were as Borough Manager. He is currently employed by North Shore City Council as City Secretary. Questions will be welcome at the conclusion of the presentation.
